I agree. It was super refreshing to hear from someone I don't know and who isn't a ZDNet reader (but someone with money to spend, and who is clearly in the target market of many vendors) about how she thinks about technology buying, usability and design. She seemed to be saavy about the technology, but then, after rereading it, you realize that the same language could easily come from someone who isn't. The whole bit about the role of fashion and avoiding the soccer mom syndrome? Fun. Functional. None of it seemed unreasonable. Yet, strangely, vendors miss the mark. The part about there being too many Razrs in the market....very interesting problem for a company like Motorola to contend with.

Somewhere in a bunker in the design labs of Motorola, Nokia, Sony-Erricson, etc. ... there's a design specialist trying to read the minds of people like Kay.
