why be vulnerable?
None of this malware afflicts any system but Microsoft Windows. So, if you CHOOSE to use the vulnerable system, you're going to fight this garbage your whole life. If your boss ordered you to use Microsoft Windows, just make sure he knows how much of his money he is wasting on your effort.

I've been using Linux for fourteen years. In all that time, we have had hundreds of false alarms, all breathlessly reported by corporate technology pundits, but NOT ONE virus or trojan actually successful in the wild. You can CHOOSE to live with malware, or you can choose to just not have the problem.

There are worms that afflict PHP applications which may be hosted on Web servers that are running on Windoze or unix. Very few workstation users run a Web server on a public IP address, and even fewer of them run vulnerable PHP applications.
