Plasma and LCD can fight it out all they want...
I still think the best value in HD TV's is DLP.

There's no other way you can get a huge 61" 1080P set with ports galore, a gorgeous picture, LED backlighting and many other features for $2200. Sometimes under 2K on sale.

The picture I've seen on DLP is at least as good as LCD.

My current Samsung is 4 years old next month. It has over 8000 hours on it (it is on 8-10 hours a day) and is still on it's ORIGINAL lamp and continues to work fine. The secret to long lamp life is to always have any lamp based TV on a UPS. Power outages and fluctuations are where DLP lamps take their biggest beating due to high temp flashes at the bulb when the power goes out.

If/when this set dies I will be going right for one of the new Samsung 61" LED backlit models. I don't even need to think about it.
