Port blocking in Hawaii
This is happening in Hawaii now, as the two major ISP's, Hawaiian Telecom and Time Warner Road Runner have decided to block those using voip over their networks. I am part of a company called Liberty International and one of the products we market is VOIP service. Since June 2007, about 800 people have signed on for this voip service on all the islands of Hawaii. At first, everyone had good service and many had a version of the voip service with a videophone. Starting this month, many people have started reporting that their voip service no longer works over their ISP's, beginning with Hawaiian Telecom and now with Road Runner. We are getting together to discuss the ramifications to our business and a strategy to confront Hawaiian Telecom and Time Warner.
Any advice you might have Russel, would be appreciated. We ARE planning to contact the FCC and the ACLU in the near future.

Aloha,
Peter Wu
