"pilot" on iPhone Ad
Pilots don't get their weather briefing from "ground control" - the official source is the government's national weather service (NWS) over the phone with a weather briefer, or via the internet with a private source , contracted by the FAA - a system called "DUATS".

Frequently pilots will augment this information with other sources, such as "The Weather Channel", etc.
