Lots of Prior Art
This type of touch screen has been around for years. The MCE equipment I worked with in 1985 used touchscreens using dual polarized conductive mesh That's what this patent is for. 1 vertically "X" polarized set of conductors and 1 horizontally "Y" polarized. Press on the screen and look for conductive X to Y points to interpret an X/Y location. (remember your High School geometry) This is nothing new. It's not even particularly inovative. To register pressure (how hard you are pushing) you just look at how many adjacent X/Y locations are conducting. The more adjacent locations that conduct, the harder you are pressing. The disadvantage we had with this technology was the durability of the mesh material. Poke it with a pencil tip or other sharp object and the mesh would tear. Maybe the new material are more durable. But to file a pantent for this is ludicrous.
