TalkBack 1 of 1:
it's not cheap if they go out of business or cancl it
Many companies have tried to offer
"lifetime" plans for this or that service.
Only to either repudiate their offerings
r go out of business.

One of the most notorious is Akimbo, which
coincidentally was backed by tier 1 venture
capital firms. Akimbo offered a "lifetime"
subscription to its video over IP service, then
left its early adopters high and dry by shutting
off the service these adaopters paid $200 for.
Trouble is, Akimbo wasn't going out of business, in
fact, it had sealed a deal with AT&T to provide
part of AT&T's video on demand service. (Turnabout
is fair play, Akimbo.)

The Voice over IP arena is littered with the
bodies of companies that tried to offer too cheap
calling. Among the latest casualties was SunRocket.
And Vonage could well be on its way.
