Ever heard of packet sniffing?
Although it is not true that "everyone can listen to your conversation", the fact remains that VoIP packets are not encrypted, so it IS possible for those packets to be logged as they pass through a server and then be reconstructed later.

Granted, it is not very likely to happen, but it is a possibility nonetheless. So on that point, I wouldn't say that Comcast lied, it was more FUD.
