still a good example of how EV-DO can let us down. It is definitely justification for studying the coverage more closely.

Even in pre-EV-DO days, I never got good data coverage on a mobile phone on a train. Again, we need more scientific study than this very informal ZDNet review, but I think the problem is that the modulation format was just not designed to perform well with a receiver inside a metal car of a moving train.
