Gartner: You want cloud? You need SOA first

Gartner still peddling that snake oil?: You gotta be kidding. Gartner still peddling the SOA snake oil? ROFL!

In all my years of IT I've never seen a SOA project deliver anything useful. And certainly not on budget. With all the billions thrown at it, I'm certain there are a couple success stories out there, if nothing else than by sheer dumb luck.

So now Gartner is doubling up on buzzwords. SOA and cloud architecture. There are a lot of good reasons not to use either of those technologies, especially cloud storage. So lets combine two losers and we'll make something new. Brilliant.
