If the architecture is flexible enough

then it should be able to handle extremes. Maybe if you integrated IAs and EAs into an organization - instead of hiring them as consultants, you would get better long-term designs. I can still achieve Autonomics (self-configure) - and once you have that, change is fairly easy.
