EA with SO applied is still EA

This is a comparison of two sides of the same coin, IMO. Practice and principles. EA isn't just about enforcing principles. It's about establishing them. It's about defining architectures. It's about guiding the efforts of implementation teams.

I really don't understand where the desire to distinguish EA and SOA is coming from. SOA is not a distinct level of architecture. It's a style.

That existing EAs may need adjustments when adopting the SO style is not argued, but I don't see value in adding yet another layer of abstraction.
