Interesting that the linkage between process and services is a key theme in the above. SOA tries to achieve this, but there remains a divide in the most complex environments (the business/IT gap). We think there may be some emerging ways to bridge it. One is to begin to incrementally re-engineer the silos using an approach called Brownfield Development. As well as using formal knowledge and semantic based techniques to break the silos, it enables a simplified view to be generated http://www.elephanteaters.org/blogger.html .
