MGM will, maybe, but MGM doesn't speak for everyone. Don't think for a minute that Blue Note is barred from challenging ripping in the future because MGM's lawyer says it's legal.

And don't forget the DMCA. If it's legal to rip CDs now it won't be if you have to circumvent use-control technologies they may put in at some time, MGM's lawyers' claims notwithstanding.
