The "slotboard" nears reality
Why can't you have a SPARC CPU, x86 and a G4 all in the same case, running on the same motherboard? The "Open Source" motherboard of the future would be a ROM for the BIOS and a bunch of slots. Want a PC? Plug in a card. Want a SparcStation? Plug in a card. Want Fiber Channel? Plug in a card. You get the idea?
