HP is RHEL certified already
so getting other distro support should be painless. It makes good business sense, support other OS = more server sales.

I vaguely recall installing RH on the netserver series way back when, the only issue was the raid card support I thought we had to get the driver from HP and had some issues with kernel updates. Glad to see they are fully supported now.
