Everyone saw the "bribery" charges coming the minute the ISO..
made OOXML a standard. It was a bit surprising how rapidly and the volume. It was zealots running willy nilly, like chickens with the heads cut off, because their Ideology said MS did not Deserve a standard, therefore it had to have been bought and the ISO suddenly, after being the organization pointed to by the zealots concerning OO.ORG for the years prior, giving it a place with the Gods and suddenly it's a POS and was bought out.

Where is the proof? Isn't bribery illegal in other countries too? If there was proof, why has Microsoft and the ISO not been charged with Bribery and taking bribes respectively?

Whatever man. Windows 7 is going to keep the ownership of the desktop squarely in the hands of Microsoft. Too bad, isn't it.

I would personally have liked to see more diversity in the desktop world, but on this site the level of lies and hatred of for profit companies for the sake of ideology is sickening. Let MS keep it all. Linux will go nowhere until it is monetized since the entire world runs on the market. Not just the U.S.

Gratis products are a losing proposition for hardware makers, that's why there have been no Linux hardware and distribution channels spring up, it's a losing cause and there is enough money out there in Linux land to do just that, but it's obvious it would simply run them out of money. Yet the hardliners here somehow expect Dell and HP to be charitable and eat the cost for loading and giving away Linux with their machines. They done so to a very small degree just to keep the dogs at bay.

OS X is undergoing liposuction to get out the fat, but it doesn't mean it's brain or heart will be any better for the wear. Just a little refactoring, but still a big ole monolithic OS.
That is why Jobs freaked out over Vista and has not stopped trying to smear Windows. He can't believe MS left the monolithic OS behind and is running now on a lean modular OS w/o dependencies. He can't get there in any reasonable time. So, desperate times call for desperate measures, the only thing he could do. Spend a billion on an attack ad campaign.
