RE: How friendly is the Movable Type fork?
If moveable type is to pass wordpress it has to have point and click install.

It took me a couple hours to install it last time I had to.

My method of installation was to "install" it and then run it, read the error message, install the missing perl module, point the web browser at it again, install the missing perl module, lather, rinse, repeat.

make install is a command you get to type over and over again. (not a big deal, but there is this small detail of download the source, compile the module, and install the module.)

The install is so bad that they have decided that a virtual machine is the way to go!

Um, guys, maybe a better installation script that can at least list the perl modules you are missing? and in the ideal world, will detect your OS, detect the dependencies that are not installed and offer to download and install the missing dependencies for you.

But, no, download the easy install is a virtual machine...
