Simple really!
If someone uses your GPL'd code on a closed source commercial project then they are in violation of the GPL. They have to either release their software under GPL or they cannot release it at all as it is illegal software.

You are then free to crack their software and distribute it for free on the Internet.

They cannot sue you because that's NOT their software, they stole it from you, remember?
