they matter a lot

From the high-power user to the gamer, desktops
matter. Laptops are great for portability, but
desktops have the power, and power users need them.

They're also cheaper and easier to upgrade, and
hobbyists/gamers help to drive the manufacturers to
produce more powerful CPUs and GPUs, higher transfer
speeds, etc.

A mobile world is great, and has it's place as a great
way to access data and enjoy media. But it can't
replace raw, local power in the form of a desktop.

at least not yet.
