Funny - I Always Thought the "Power" in the eBook Was Convenience
I can carry an entire library in an easy-to-read (and sorry, Christian - but it IS easy-to-read!) format that weighs, with long-life battery, a little over a half pound.

Yes, the Kindle's ability to connect wirelessly is a cool feature and all, but it has its own limitations - you can only straight surf without interacting, and the Kindle's browser layout reminds me of nothing so much as the rotten experience I had Web surfing on my old Blackberry Pearl! It's nice to be able to look things up and all, but when reading for pleasure is generally really limited. Also, the only place you can surf via wireless for content is the Kindle Store itself - which overcharges outrageously for content that is, mainly, a collection of bits with no physical presence (about the price of the paperback version would, IMO, be a fair price - not this 2/3rds of hardcover Amazon currently charges!).

I suspect that the next generation of Sony eBook readers will take advantage of the Kindle's one "coolguy" feature - wireless connectivity - and come up with their own version, either via wifi connectivity or maybe even a paid mobile Internet plan....
