The power in the Kindle ...
... for me is not hyperlinks. I'm not really a footnote chaser, so that has little appeal to me.

What I find myself really impressed by is not only the ability to annote books, but to then see all of the annotations for all of my books on one screen. The built-in dictionary is invaluable to me as well. Also, I can't discount just how much physically easier it is to read on a Kindle vs. holding a paper book.

In other words, it's not the potential of getting to other information via hyperlinks that interests me so much as the services that Kindle provides me to better connect with the book I'm reading, that a paper book can never provide.
