- Correction regarding text-to-speech
-
The Kindle disables text-to-speech when the publisher of the Kindle edition of a book does not also own the rights to publish the audiobook edition of the book. This is at the publisher's descretion, not Amazon's.
It all has to do with existing publishing contracts, not some moustache-twirling plot on Amazon's part to steal from the blind. In fact, Kindle's text-to-speech function is enabled by Amazon for all blind customers for all books. So, in that regard, you are just plain wrong. - Posted by: dkawalec Posted on: 06/18/09 (Edited: 06/18/2009 @ 03:16) You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
