Books do not deserves 100% of your attention
If the book is entertainment, then the reader should do what ever entertains them. If the book is for education, then the reader should challenge everything they read because all non-fiction books contain factual errors.

Anything that further empowers a reader to challenge the validity of what they read is a good thing.
