I don't know about you....
...but Codeplex seems to have a long way to go to be as big or important as Sourceforge. 9,000 projects vs 230,000. I think I read that Google Code had around 50,000 a while back and they started off after Codeplex didn't they?

I'm not trying to knock MS but I just don't believe the culture of MS oriented developers is geared towards FOSS. They have to pay a pretty penny for their top notch tool sets so they start off with a sense against sharing. On the other hand a developer starting with Eclipse or Netbeans is more likely to feel a sense of sharing as they have been given the full fledged tools to get started free of charge.
