@TonyOz
First up, Happy New Year to you too!!

Actually I am quite aware of the automatic update features on many Linux distros and can personally attest to these working just fine on Ubuntu too. Regarding Dana's blog and my subsequent post, let's just say I was hoping that he was only referring to enterprise level administration of automatic open source (read: Linux plus applications) updates. Despite not always being the most malware-targeted software, Linux in particular does well by not becoming complacent (please don't construe that to mean I'm suggesting they're perfect). I guess there is also the fact that many malware attacks are OS agnostic. Anyway; at this level of advancement at the client level, I would think it safe to assume there was already open source software available for the enterprise for administering automatic updates and was just looking for someone who'd actually used it in a real life environment. You see; I hope to see far more open source rolled out in my organization as we move into difficult times and just wanted some ammunition to present to my senior management regarding centralized administration.
