The most newb friendly Linux distro, Ubuntu?
First of all, that seems like an unquantifiable claim.
Second, it isn't true. (Elegant, no?)

There are many distros out there that do at least as well as Ubu, especially in the speed department.
Many are far easier for noobs.
Mepis comes to mind.
