People will tend to do whatever they think is right, particularly when they don't have jobs to protect.

One thing that Dana does not note is that Richard Stallman, and those like him are opposed to any restrictions on the sharing of software and are suspicious of restrictions on sharing other sorts of media, but have never advocated breaking the law for the purpose of liberating proprietary materials; rather they try to create replacements that are copyrighted and licensed in accordance with their principles. These people are not the ones who promote the development and use of software intended to expedite the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials. Most of the latter (understandably) prefer to work anonymously.

Even among radicals, there are differences in degree.
