Oh, I agree...
...from an economic standpoint, it makes sense. But I don't see it as a way to increase the mindshare of Linux among consumers, who (by the description given) won't know what the Netbook is running in the first place (and won't care, nor should they). How does that help Linux? Linux needs higher visibility, not lower, if it wants to make inroads into the consumer OS mindshare. For Linux to become a viable consumer OS people need to know they're getting Linux, and want it.
