Linux is cheaper than Windows
And since they do the same thing, why not go with the cheaper option?

And really you're right in that the other OS is more important to the end user. But as far as the sale of this "terminal", what it means is that the OEM will get the profits rather than having to share with MS, while being able to sell a cheaper machine. And hopefully cheaper machines would mean more sales.

I think this would sell. I basically use my Eee the same way. I have Kubuntu installed on it, so I can do some things locally like quick web browsing and multimedia, but for the most part I use it to remote into either my WinXP machine at work or my Linux machines at home.
