Why that direction? I think the reality is that M$ has to make sure Office is interoperable with OpenOffice! After all, OOo is free and with a standard format...Office is expensive with a "standard" format.

P.S. - it's not "IT managers and users who will have to worry"...they merely pick. The product development managers better start worrying!
