Home Automation will be key ....
It is the same concept that engulfs the 'aging in place' movement; different industries, doing different things, yet all saying they have the same end goal.

I've been researching the real-world use of home automation to improve the quality of life for seniors as they age. (Just being able to turn the tv on by clapping won't do it.)

I've put together a technology section on our website and the one article we've done on home automation has been very popular. Currently we are researching some original content on the very topic you are discussing here. You can see it here: http://ageinplace.com.

I've seen a few companies that look promising, but I don't think anyone is 'there' yet. Here's hoping a few can get it off the ground in the next few years. Very people really understand what impact this incredible (and incredibly large) group of people called the Baby Boomers will have on societies across the globe if we collectively can't create the ways to meet their needs as they age.

Thanks for this great post! It's good to see others are thinking the same way as we are.
