NVidia says no to request to release open source drivers, once again

My experience is just the opposite ...

Over the last ten years or so the nv driver that gets installed, initially, is "a little stale", and worse yet, doesn't run openGL.

Once I've installed the distro, I head right over to Nvidia's site and get the latest and greatest for that distro. Admittedly, sometimes I've had to wait for Nvidia to get on the ball and create a package for my particular distro's version, but it's always been a better experience than using nv. By the way, I've been using mostly Suse and openSuse.
