Any big organization is difficult to turn around
Jonathan Schwartz means well, but he can't turn the organization around on a dime. There remain many within Sun who are singing from a different hymnal, and he apparently lacks the authority to either show them the door or split the company in two -- maybe a Java Corp. to run the open source stuff, and a Sun Corp. to run the rest under McNealy.
