With the success Java has had, how much money has it netted Sun, not revenue, net. I'd guess that they've lost hundreds of millions on it.

Hardware unprofitable, well maybe, but that's where Sun got ALL it's bankroll from. If they didn't have that huge stash of cash from their bloated hardware prices in the 90s, they would have been gone long ago.

Sun software engineers best in the world??? Hardly, I suspect they'd come a distant second on Mars.
