Ironically...
...the only presidential candidate this year that strikes as having even partially "walked the walk" is the one that just withdrew. It was Mitt Romney's administration in Massachussetts that adopted ODF as their standard document format, and stood by the decision in the face of intense pressure from MS-lobbyists and their allies in the General Court (Mass didn't back off until after Mr. Romney left office). While Romney let his CTO do the talking and take the heat (I do fault Romney for not publicly backing him up), I can't imagine that this would have gone anywhere without the governor's full support.
