Gates' Microsoft future of intense interest

They need SOMEBODY to be the public face of Microsoft. Balmer is viewed as

a chair throwing idiot, they are keeping Ozzie sequestered, who else is there????

But, this is an important role, as Microsoft is now forced to NOT give customers what they want in terms of interoperability and compatibility. Microsoft is forced to make sure things do NOT interoperate and are NOT compatible as much as possible, to make sure that as many things as possible depend on Windows and/or MS Office.

They must do all of this while puting a kinder, gentler face on the company, and pretending they are "innovating". So, who is the public face of Microsoft, and how they present Microsoft going forward, is very important.
