Bah, humbug?
Are you implying that even if patents were violated the OLPC Foundation shouldn't be liable? On what grounds? Because it's "for the children"? Because it's open source? Because it's Christmas? Does the holiday season determine patent infringement now?

That would open up a whole can of worms, as people rush to incorporate competitors' patents into open-source products or products intended for children or products released around Christmas in order to get away with patent violation.

Bah, humbug indeed. Why not just come out and say you're against patents? At least be honest about it.
