Dana, I think you're really on to something with the "two enterprises" idea. But I'm not sure it necessarily follows that commercial open source vendors will just morph into big bloated versions of today's large vendors. The players who succeed will do so by building strong relationships with their communities, and striking the proper balance of project leadership and responsiveness to community input (code and otherwise).
