Interesting problems (opportunities)
Red Hat is fast approaching (or has hit) the wall on growth if they can't figure out how to serve two masters, the corporate world and the "community". Myself, I don't know that working with Sun is a great idea as Sun simply isn't able to support the company under the current business model for open source or the GPL.

Not to be cruel but you also have to consider how the MS/Novell deal for interop is going to play out as well as the GPL-3. It has certainly put Novell back on the map for business installs.

Of course there is also the issue of the law suits against Red Hat and contrary to how the open source community dislikes it, there is a very real threat to Red Hat here. Even if they win its going to cost them a boat load of cash in court.

No, I am not saying in anyway that Red Hat is dead or dying, what I am saying is they have some very tough issues to iron out and how they do it will determine their future as a for-profit company.
