Off base once again
Feel free to get a T1 connection installed. That should take care of the problem.

There are still plenty of areas in the U.S. where DSL, for instance, is simply "not available in your area yet. Check back with us in a year."

I live in DALLAS, TEXAS about 10 miles from DOWNTOWN, about 1/4 mile from I75/Central Expressway, a MAJOR business corridor. In July I moved less than ONE mile from my previous residence. AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell) told me DSL was "not available in your area yet".

We are in a transition period from old to new technology. You ignore the fact that "the pipe" isn't the only issue. More bandwidth requires more servers, etc. The entire system has to be upgraded at every stage.

It is a LOT more important that the providers achieve universal availability than that somebody's on-line spreadsheet works almost as fast as the spreadsheet program on their computer!
