Winblad carefully avoided commenting on BillG?s reluctance to embrace open standards but hinted that the company?s position will likely not change for some time to come. ?It will be a while before we see [Microsoft CEO] Steve Ballmer on stage extolling the benefits of open standards,?
MS has never, ever, adopted an open standard until absolutely forced to, and only then when, miraculously, the world managed to avoid their proprietary flavor. As for Balmer extolling the virtues, it will never happen. He will be long since forced into irrelevancy in a revamped, hungry Microsoft.
