Asking the choir for a response
Does Bill Gates worry about a Penguin? - no because the overwhelming majority of computer users don't know it's related to Linux.

So you think we'll have more Linux desktops even without the hardware sales - how? Every geek that wants Linux (whatever flavour) already has it.

So the developers are working on desktop apps - good for them. In 10 years they should have at least 5% of those availabe for Windows now. The other thing you forget to mention is all those open source guys working on doing apps for their own distro - Tower of Babel anyone?

Apache is great if you don't want bells and whistles or Sharepoint. If I don't require any of the MS additions then bring on the plain vanilla.

Despite the preponderance of ABMers at open source conferences, the majority of open source is still developed on Windows - something everyone seems to forget.
