Is it OpenOffice or is it Linux?
Before you can even begin to talk about the problems with OpenOffice's applications, let's talk about installs. Now, I'm a student at New England Institute of Technology in R.I. and, as a project, we had to "try" to install OpenOffice on SLES9. Now, even our Linux instructor says he's had problems doing it. As such, only myself and another student were able to successfully install it and have the menus show properly. My quesiton is this. Is that a downfall of Linux or is it OpenOffice's RPMs. Because, there are all kinds of "remove this rpm" or "remove that rpm" instructions that pertain to Linux distros that aren't the one you're installing on.

Any ideas? Comments? Suggestions? Corrections?

Thanks,
MGP
