Of course more is needed
There's no end of spectrum needs. Not to sound flippant, I happen to agree that more open spectrum is absolutely required in order to have ubiquitous wireless services. More to the point, unless there is spectrum for every need of broadband deployment, from low frequency for last mile penetration, to good infrastructure frequencies, and perhaps even some with suitable power allowances for mobile use (think open source pcs type of operations ) would create favorable conditions to fulfill the desire for ubiquitous, competitive broadband.

However, the feds propensity to take over industries and regulate them into monopolies has already started taking over broadband, with CALEA and no doubt even more onerous future demands on providers... we'll slip BACKWARDS, not go forward, as the small operators throw in the towel, or simply never start, since the bar to startups continues to climb regulationwise, at the same time that industry is finally bringing the cost of hardware and bandwidth down to affordable levels.

Too bad nobody wanted to join the fight to defend broadband from CALEA mandates. Apparently it's just too easy to "go along" if it's someone else getting screwed.
