Most don't realise but Gates
is far from being involved with the day to day things at MS anymore. For the most part he is a public figure that comes out to say a few words now and then but his real interest today is the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. (And that too is a good thing.)

As far as the Linux desktop, (and apps for it) I see nothing there that wasn't there 4 years ago and it didn't impress me then either. shrug...
