So let me offer a modest proposal. Mozilla should take over Open Office. What do you think?

I think we'll be shipping mittens and parkas to the infernal regions before Sun lets go.

Keep in mind that one of the reasons for the low rate of contributions to OO.o is the requirement for all of them to:
a) Have copyright shared with Sun Microsystems, and
b) Have submissions reviewed and approved by Sun

And, no, I don't have conclusive evidence that the above is true -- anecdotes only.
