They need to learn how to solicit the non-programmer
This is the sort of contribution someone like myself should be getting into. I know nothing about programming languages, but I can do most anything else, including simple scripting. The more we non-programmers can contribute to F/OSS projects, the more the programmers can concentrate on programming.

The problem is that I knew nothing about this contest. I'm on the mailing list but since most of what's on the list does not pertain to me it's easy to miss the parts that could be of interest to me. Maybe a separate mailing list should be created for non-programmers to draw these people into contributing where they can.
