Before this current era that would not be a problem, but now it is.
Power is all held in one party. All four branches of government, including the lobbyists who link to government, are thoroughly in the hands of one party.
And it's not Boucher's.
As a result, anything Boucher says is instantly discounted. It becomes bleating from the opposition. It becomes less likely to pass simply because of where it came from.
That's the way Washington works right now. And I'm afraid that, if an election overturned this, it would continue to work that way, only in the other direction, for some time to come.
