Cadence
In particular, the ICFB (integrated circuit front-to-back) design suite with Analog Workbench. Spend a good third of my time with it some weeks.

Oh, not just another commercial *nix tech tool?

Necessarily, then, it has to be OpenOffice.org because I use it to write the specs and management presentations that get authorization to do the Cadence stuff, plus the spreadsheets we typically use to track action items, defects, etc.

However, for sheer Kewl! factor it has to be KOctave, because I can use it without having to compete for the MatLab licenses and it does a much nicer job of cranking serious math than oocalc even if it's not directly compatible with all of the MatLab toolkits.

I wish I could find more excuses to use LyX -- it's really very nice but doesn't fit well into the document flow here. For now I just use it for letters.
